Application Steps

Review these steps and resources to applying for the Graduate Student Career Exploration Grant

Step 1: Secure an opportunity. You can use this training module for example e-mail templates, project ideas, outlines for an employer pitch, and resources to find company leads.

Review MIT’s conflict of interest and conflict of commitment guidelines to ensure the internship experience is in accordance with these guidelines.

Step 2: Submit your application via Handshake.  Your application will include an offer letter from host organization, responses to short answer questions and your resume.

Applications due: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until funds have been allocated or until Nov. 15th, whichever comes first. If you would like to apply for the grant after November 15th, contact Tavi Sookhoo  (tsookhoo@mit.edu).

Attention International Students: Review this Guidance for International Students information below to determine their eligibility, prior to beginning the application process.
