The Data to AI group in the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems focuses on how to build large scale AI systems that work alongside humans. These systems have to continually learn from the data, generate predictions from them and seamlessly integrate with human efforts and interactions. The group develops foundational algorithms, abstractions and systems to enable these three tasks at scale. The group’s work as a result is at the intersection of statistics and machine learning, human data interaction and distributed systems. Algorithms, systems and open source software developed by the group are applied across a broad range of use cases that come from financial, medical, cybersecurity and education industry.
