The Entry-Level Carpenter will work under the supervision of experienced professionals, gaining valuable skills and knowledge in all aspects of the trade.
Essential Function:
- Assist in interpreting design drawings and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Perform various tasks related to construction and remodeling projects, including demolition, framing, installation, and repairs.
- Assist with layout work for walls, millwork, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), and other carpentry components.
- Participate in rough framing using wood and light gauge metal framing techniques.
- Assist in finish work, including drywall finishing, flooring installation, ceiling installation, millwork assembly, and trim work.
- Coordinate and assist in the installation of doors, frames, windows, and hardware.
- Develop and refine finish carpentry skills, including wood trim and cabinet installation.
Position Requirements
- Self-motivated and dependable, with reliable transportation to job sites.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Ability to navigate job sites, including stairs and elevated structures.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Functions effectively as part of a team
- Previous experience in carpentry is preferred but not required; however, a strong interest in learning and developing carpentry skills is essential.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, following instructions and contributing to project goals.
- Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
- Must be ready, willing, and able to travel if/when necessary.
