Job Summary:
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Process Manufacturing Engineers to support the turbine blades and turbine vanes value streams for the New Product Introduction (NPI) team in Hot Section Module Center.
The selected candidates will have the opportunity to work in a high technology, advanced program environment incorporating the latest manufacturing readiness assessment tools. They will partner with engineering, operations, and suppliers to evaluate the most efficient and cost-effective process design. The ideal candidate will develop manufacturing process alternatives based on improved manufacturability and producibility. Primary location in East Hartford CT and up to 20% travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop tooling, process parameters, and controls to create a capable and stable process
- Build and maintain shop floor work instructions for development hardware
- Perform technology and process development tasks; including, first piece runs, measurement system analysis and capability assessments
- Coordination and communication with Engineering on Manufacturing capabilities, development timelines, and manufacturing readiness
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, aerospace engineering or similar
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with blueprint reading
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with CNC machinery
- Knowledge of continuous improvement tools: Process Certification, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, PFMEA, Six Sigma and/or Red-X
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
