About the Role
Oshans is looking for their first Marketing Intern to play a key role in shaping our marketing and communications strategy for our first product launch. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the development and execution of the marketing strategy, including market research, target audience development, brand positioning, content strategy, and metrics development.
- Assess and model the potential of new opportunity areas within social media platforms, email, and websites, driving engagement and brand awareness.
- Conduct deep analysis of the competitive landscapes marketing strategy to identify patterns and trends that resonate with our target audience, utilizing data-driven insights to inform content creation and distribution strategies.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing marketing channels and recommend strategies for optimization and expansion, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance Oshans’ competitive positioning in the market, driving growth and impact.
Interns are expected to work 5-10 hours per week and commit to a minimum of 2 months of work.
About the Intern
As the first hire on the marketing team, the Marketing Intern will have the opportunity to innovate on cutting edge ocean conservation efforts that will make measurable progress towards the world’s toughest health, environmental, and social problems. The intern will play a pivotal role in developing the first financial models for Oshans, enabling them to scale alongside a fast paced startup working towards a Pre Seed round. This position is for someone who seeks ambiguous challenges and is comfortable working in an independent setting. Ideal characteristics include a self-starter, strong attention to detail, organized, and comfortable with competing priorities and deadlines.
The ideal qualifications for this position include:
- Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
- Creative thinker with a passion for sustainability and environmental conservation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Google suite and experience with marketing analytics tools is a plus.
Oshans Stage of Development
Launched in early 2024 by two sustainably-focused entrepreneurs from San Diego, Oshans is currently in its infancy stages and focused on developing its inaugural line of apparel, slated for release in fall 2024.
