POSITION PROFILE:
The Configuration Control Intern is responsible for the administrative support of the Configuration and Improvement Group, while also collaborating on multiple and engaging projects. The intern will receive valuable training in configuration control and learn how it’s employed in the defense industry. This internship is perfect for students wanting to learn more about a career in Configuration Control, understanding Product Lifecycle Management, working in a manufacturing environment and learning how Optics 1 supports out military by providing cutting edge technology to our warfighters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Partner with Configuration Management Analyst and Configuration Control Manager to support large administrative configuration project(s) requiring a high level attention to detail and execution.
- Successfully carry out a directed plan with measured results.
- Learn how a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system supports design and manufacturing.
- Learn and use Aras PLM software and follow Optics 1 internal processes to update document file links.
- Create document change requests (DCO) of multiple line items, following a defined list.
- Enter data accurately.
- Use and update Excel spreadsheets.
- Update documentation using Word, PDF, and Excel.
- Learn document control basics and their role in manufacturing and configuration management.
- Learn to recognize inconsistencies in documentation and PLM system.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- A passion for people operations, culture, and engagement
- Experience in planning and organizational skills
- Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
- Ability to exercise good judgment on highly sensitive and confidential matters
- Team player with a “can do” attitude
- Ability to multi-task across a broad range of responsibilities.
