Reporting to the Superintendent, Engineering the Environmental Engineer is responsible for procuring and maintaining all environmental and similar regulatory permits, as well as submitting timely reports and renewal applications as required.
This position supports air, waste, water and chemical regulations and works closely with Operations and Management to advise on requirements.
What you will do:
- Manage and/or technically support base business permitting, reporting and compliance assurance
- Collect samples as required and arrange for consultant/contractor support
- Support the Wholesale EHS&S audit program with environmental systems and compliance assurance auditing
- Identify environmental risk, emerging issues and regulatory change, and develop / support mitigation measures
- Lead and/or support environmental incident investigations and associated corrective actions as required
What you will bring:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
- Professional certification, i.e. PE, RG, CHMM, REM, REP or equivalent preferred
- 3+ years experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations including CEPA, CAA, RCRA, CWA and EPCRA / CERCLA preferred
- Experience with incident investigation, environmental management systems and environmental compliance assurance auditing
- Possess project management skills including environmental consultant management and Federal and State regulatory agency interface and negotiation
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management, and SAP
