We are currently developing a flexible market simulation platform to be used by multiple departments in the company, to study the impact of new market designs and the challenges caused by the transition to the clean energy future. In this role you will work on the simulator design/development, software implementation, testing and integration with third-party software and a cloud computing environment.

How you will make an impact:
- Review/modify the overall architecture of the simulation platform
- Participate in the market software development, including database access, clearing engine and market model
- Participate in the effort to port the simulation platform to the cloud computing environment
- Conduct various market simulation studies for both internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain and provide technical support for the simulation platform
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Master’s or Doctorate/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Operational Research, Computer Studies, or other relevant area required. Bachelor’s Degree and relevant experience will also be considered.
- Experience with programming and modeling languages such as Java, Python, GAMS, AIMMS etc.
- Working experience with commercial optimization solvers such CPLEX and GUROBI
- Demonstrated experience with relational databases such as SQL
- Desired but not required:
- Prior experience developing software for wholesale electricity markets and market clearing
- Understanding of electricity market and power system operations and analysis
- Familiarity with a cloud computing (AWS) environment
