Primary Responsibilities
The Transportation Planning Intern/Co-Op will work as a member as part of a team on multiple projects serving clients in the New England area, such as NHDOT, Mass DOT and MBTA along with some national pursuits. The position includes multimodal planning support for traffic and transit studies. The successful candidate will support Complete Streets assignments, evaluate Bus Rapid Transit plans, Bicycle and Pedestrian projects, and possibly assist with FTA and FHWA grant applications. The candidate will need to be a self-motivated individual who utilizes the highest level of professionalism while performing transportation planning and engineering assignments.
Required Qualifications
• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
• Attention to detail a must
• Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Knowledge of or interest in learning AutoCAD or Microstation
• Knowledge of or interest in learning ArcGIS
• Knowledge of or interest in learning Synchro
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
• 3.0 GPA or higher preferred
• 2+ years completed toward degree
• Students with at least one prior internship in the transportation industry preferred.
