Research Associate II/III (Contract), Small Molecule Biochemical & Cellular Pharmacology
Description:
- The high-dimensional profiling group within Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology develops and executes cell-based assays using cutting-edge methods including high-content imaging and gene expression, along with AI/ML, to study cellular responses to drug treatments. These activities support the small molecule drug discovery portfolio across multiple therapeutic areas within Genentech.
- We’re looking for a talented individual for a one-year contract position, with potential to extend, to collaborate with biologists and technical specialists to carry out medium to high-throughput cell-based compound screens.
- The Scientist will be part of a team implementing new automation systems for cell culture, assay execution, and data management, and may provide technical support for instrument users.
- The Scientist will maintain and perform quality control of cell-based phenotypic screening assays.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry or equivalent
- At least 1 year experience in industry or academic drug discovery or screening environment, with a hands-on background in developing, implementing, and troubleshooting cell-based assays.
- Experience with tissue culture is essential, experience with lab automation is highly desirable.
Compensation range $37.89-$72.67/hr
