Summary
This application is for a 6-month co-op role from July – December 2024. Resume review begins in January 2024.
Work within one of several departments in Biogen’s Product and Technology Development (PTD) organization engaged in laboratory activities supporting the development and characterization of therapeutic products, manufacturing processes or new technologies.
Position Description
In this role your responsibilities will include the design of control strategies for small molecule pharmaceutical products. You will perform instrumental analysis, sample preparation and data interpretation under supervision. You will be exposed to a variety of analytical instrumentation such as LC-UV, GC-MS and LC-MS and related techniques.
Key responsibilities:
Developing sensitive analytical methods.
Operating, and troubleshooting equipment, running experiments, collecting, and interpreting analytical data, design next steps for experimentation.
Maintaining an up-to-date electronic laboratory notebook.
Present data, results and conclusions, complete a final presentation and/or poster for an internal meeting.
Qualifications:
Ability to work independently using all available information and scientific intuition to identify opportunities.
Have experience working in a scientific laboratory.
Comfortable working with new software and analyzing data to draw conclusions.
To participate in the Biogen Co-op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
Education
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. students majoring in Analytical Chemistry or related field.
