Below are the questions that need to be answered when you complete your application for MIT’s 2024 Fall Career Fair. If you have any questions about the questions being asked, or how to answer any of the questions, please email cfairs@mit.edu.
Question 1: Which industry cluster best aligns with your organization?
How to answer: At the fair, organizations will be placed within an industry cluster/grouping. You should select the industry cluster where you want your organization to be placed. The options include:
- Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals and Sciences
- Hardware, Robotics and Software
- Design, Engineering and Research
- Government, Non-profit and Social Impact
- Computer Science
- Aerospace, Defense, Transportation
- Energy & Environment
- Data Analytics, Consulting, Finance, Investment and Trading
- Chemical Manufacturing, Materials, Supply Chain
- Media, Marketing, Humanities, and Creative Careers
Question 2: Is your organization first-year-friendly?
How to answer: The fair aims to ensure that first-year undergraduate students (graduating in 2028) can do some meaningful career exploration at the Fall Career Fair and find opportunities open to first-year undergraduate students. If your organization recruits for, or is open to general conversations with first-year-students, please select either the FYF+ or FYF label. Select the “FYF+” designation if organization hires first-year students for internships or have programs geared toward first-years, or select “FYF” if your organization hopes to engage in general conversations with first-year students.
Question 2a: Please share the name of the program designed specifically for first-year undergraduate students.
How to answer: If you organization has early-career programs for first-year students, please list them.
Question 2b: Please share the Handshake job postings that first-year undergraduate students are eligible for.
How to answer: If you organization has internships or other opportunities open to first-years, please post these on Handshake and list them when completing this application for the Fall Career Fair.
Question 3: MIT candidates place a high priority on sustainability initiatives. Please indicate if your company has any of these credentials or memberships.
How to answer: Choose applicable credentials and memberships from the list provided (list includes: B-Corp certification; Ceres Network; FSC Forest Stewardship Council; RE100 Renewable Energy Initiative; Science Based Targets Initiative; Paris Alignment Investment Initiative; PRI Principles of Responsible Investment; None of the above)
Question 4: If applicable, please share a website address where candidates can access more information about sustainability initiatives at your organization.
How to answer: Please provide the web (URL) address when completing this application for the Fall Career Fair.
Question 4a: Please provide a link to your company’s most recent sustainability impact report (sometimes called an ESG or CSR report) that updates stakeholders on your progress towards its sustainability-related goals. If you do not have that information or if such a report does not exist, please state that below.
How to answer: Please provide the web (URL) address for any recent sustainability impact reports.
Question 5: Do you have tailored programs and/or staff roles that provide support for underrepresented minorities at your company? (African, Black, Caribbean, Asian Pacific American, Latino, Veterans and Persons with Disabilities).
How to answer: Choose applicable answer from the list provided (list includes: Yes, No, Not Sure).
Question 6: Please state below the details around the programs your organization has to support underrepresented minorities.
How to answer: If you organization has programs to support underrepresented minorities, please list them and provide details.
Question 7: Please list below any affinity groups your organization offers employees (i.e. LGBTQIA+, Women-specific group, etc).
How to answer: If you organization has affinity groups, please list them.
Question 8: Has your organization adopted any of the following approaches to increase pay equity? Please check all that apply.
How to answer: Choose applicable answer from the list provided (list includes: Transparency in pay; Take negotiation out of the interview process; Run pay equity analysis; Train managers on creating a culture of pay equity; Embed equal pay efforts into enterprise-wide equity initiatives; Non of the above).
