Checklist for applying to Distinguished Fellowships (General)

  • Discover your path / your personal value and vision
  • Explore Fellowships (what exists? what are their missions? How might they fit into my personal vision?
  • Learn about the application process and requirements
  • Apply (start writing essays, asking for recommendations, attending info sessions, etc.)
  • Review opportunities in the “explore” section
  • Visit official websites for Fellowships of interest
  • Make an appointment with a Fellowships Advisor on Handshake
  • Attend an information session
  • Start talking to potential recommenders
  • For applications due in junior year (i.e., Truman, Beinecke, and Udall), begin advising process in October of junior year
    • Internal application is due in November
    • Plan to finalize applications during IAP
  • For applications due in senior year (Rhodes, Marshall, Fulbright, etc.), begin advising process in February of junior year
    • Internal application is due in early June for endorsement
    • Plan to finalize applications during the summer
