The Department of Immunology maintains research programs that focus on translational and basic research in areas relevant to human disease.
Our group focuses on immunological, physiological and metabolic pathways in innate and adaptive host responses during a wide array of chronic diseases. These include autoimmunity, cardiovascular disease, infectious diseases and aging. Our aim to do world-class science in the area of inflammation and the targeted development of novel therapeutics for both treatment and prevention of immune-mediated diseases.
Under close supervision of the Principal Investigator and Senior lab members, the candidate will conduct a variety of routine experiments to aid current research directions.
Executing established immunological procedures and protocols is expected: these may include performing routine immune assays, tissue culture, gel electrophoresis, high-dimensional immunophenotyping and immunohisto/cyto chemistry as well as cutting edge molecular and genomic techniques. Where pertinent, the candidate will also record test results, analyze data using basic statistics. The job will include exposure to current and new bioinformatics tools, which the candidate can participate in based on interest and expertise.
A critical expectation is to maintain and organize laboratory materials, equipment and supplies, and monitor animal colonies.
