The Marketing/Public Relations Professional supports the marketing and public relations efforts of all programs in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS). The position reports directly to the FACS Director of External Relations, while working closely with the FACS Director of Development, the FACS Director of Alumni Relations, the FACS Associate Deans, and FACS departments.
This person helps the Director of External Relations amplify the college’s research, outreach and teaching efforts and assists in maintaining strong ties with current and prospective students, alumni, parents, donors and industry partners primarily through high-quality visual media. The position provides graphic design support for annual giving efforts and student and alumni events and will be responsible for designing the annual FACS Magazine and other publications.
The public relations associate ensures that all work complies with the brand guidelines of the University of Georgia and that all materials have a consistent look and feel. This person also will provide content for the college’s social media presence to include original designs and other visual elements.
Assignments are performed with minimal supervision and require excellent judgement, and independent action. Attendance, punctuality, and strong organizational skills are essential for optimal performance of this position. Professional demeanor and appearance and a well-organized work environment are expected. This person will have as much autonomy as they are capable of assuming and will be expected to provide ideas and innovative approaches to the college’s overall communications efforts.
