To organize, coordinate and promote a comprehensive athletic program in the assigned sport that is designed to meet the needs and interests of the school community. To provide effective leadership that will ensure a positive learning environment and will stress the importance of athletic participation and academic achievement. Must demonstrate a high degree of ethics, professionalism and be a positive role model for all students.
1. Comply with the rules and regulations of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA).
2.Communicate to all participants the policies of the team, local school, and School.
3.Be responsible for public relations and publicity for the assigned athletic program; establish procedures for communicating with parents/guardians.
4.Plan, organize, and implement the teaching of fundamentals, skills, strategies, rules, and proper conditioning in the assigned sport.
5.Provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship; compile and maintain accurate individual and team performance records.
6.Ensure that adequate supervision is provided for all students involved in the sport to and from the playing site.
7.Instruct participants in safety procedures and in the need to report injuries to the coach and/or trainer immediately; implement appropriate procedures for handling injury situations; ensure the availability of a properly supplied first aid kit and emergency care cards at all times.
8.5 Days a week, practice and/or game.
9.Practice time to be determined by Coach
10.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
