We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our histology team. Here you will advance our understanding of disease biology, contribute to target identification efforts, and work towards the discovery and optimization of new drugs. The work involves collaboration with a host of basic research scientists across multiple disciplines as well as the clinicians who bring our drugs to patients.
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to;
•Perform histology work to support the drug discovery process, including gross sectioning, processing, embedding, sectioning, staining and digitization of slides.
•Quantify study results using automated image analysis programs.
•Conduct data analyses and documentation of experiments.
•Collaborate effectively while working in a matrixed environment.
•Employ good laboratory, data recording and data documentation practices.
•Present results in lab and department meetings.
•Assist in writing research documents and publications.

What you’ll bring to the role;
•BS degree in biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other life science field (BS + 2-3 years histology experience)
•Knowledge of histology techniques including tissue processing and sectioning, special stains, automated IHC and ISH, and image analysis
•Detail-oriented with the ability to quickly grasp new techniques
•Knowledge of statistics and computational data analyses skills
•Excellent team player, who demonstrates good communication skills, creative problem-solving capabilities, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment
•Strong written, oral and record keeping skills
•Flexibility and aptitude for learning, with a passion to drive groundbreaking science
•Familiarity with animal models of atherosclerosis a plus, but not required.
