As part of a comprehensive effort to reform and reinvent New York City’s approach to criminal justice and policing, the City of New York is launching an “Ending the Poverty to Prison Pipeline” initiative that addresses the recommendations surfaced in the Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative draft plan. Within this initiative, NYC Opportunity will be focused on developing solutions and furthering recommendations that connect low-income and justice-involved clients and their families to new or improved streamlined services and supports that center community needs, and prevent or reduce justice system contact.
As part of the Programs and Evaluation Team, the Senior Advisor will coordinate the design, implementation, program management, evaluation, and related policy initiatives for multiple initiatives and projects, as well as assist with key communications efforts. Working with colleagues across teams in NYC Opportunity, the Senior Advisor will focus on planning, coordination, and oversight of the “Ending Poverty to Prison Pipeline” initiative, as well as other related projects that help low-income residents, navigate to services that meet their needs. This position will be part of NYC Opportunity’s Programs and Evaluation Team, and will work closely with the “Ending Poverty to Prison Pipeline” Program Manager on the Service Design Team.
