About the Opportunity
NAVER is seeking MIT students with native or near-native Korean proficiency of any year or course with relevant interests and skills to join a NAVER tech team such as Apollo CIC, Biz CIC, CLOVA CIC, Forest CIC, Glace CIC, Group& CIC, Search CIC, Tune CIC, ETECH, Maps, Platform Labs, Whale, or NAVER App Tech working on UGC, ads, e-commerce, open community/café service, searching engine, music platform, emerging technology, browser apps, and more.
After gaining an understanding of strengths and interests via interviews, interns are assigned to a team and a specific challenge that team is working on. Internship project areas may include–but are not limited to–the following:
- AI-based end-to-end test generation
- Internal AI model platform to support AI transformation
- Data analysis assistant using natural-language-to-SQL generation
- AI-driven test code generation for high test coverage
- On-call incident response automation
Internships of 2-3 months are available June-August. Funding is provided for all basic internship expenses, including airfare, housing, and living costs.
Requirements
Class year: 1st year, sophomore, junior, senior, master’s.
Course: All course majors with interests relevant to areas listed above are welcome to apply, including but not limited to: Computer Science & Engineering (6-3), Artificial Intelligence & Decision Making (6-4), Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (6-2), Computer Science, Economics & Data Science (6-14), Computation & Cognition (6-9), Mathematics with Computer Science (18-C).
Required skills:
- Native or near-native Korean speaking and writing proficiency.
- Other requirements vary depending on potential internship projects as discussed in interview.
Preferred skills:
- Demonstrated interest in Naver’s technology and business.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Applicants must meet MISTI MIT-Korea requirements prior to the internship start date:
- Complete MIT-Korea pre-internship training, 10-15 total hrs.
- Minimum 4.0 GPA
The priority application deadline for summer internships is Dec. 15; applications are only accepted after that date if positions are still available.
