About the Company
PCL, Inc. is a company based in Korea developing multiple in vitro diagnostic reagents for the diagnosis of high-risk viruses, automated analyzers, and analysis programs. We have succeeded in large-scale multi-center clinical trials and product usage of high-risk virus multi-diagnosis reagents for blood screening. Through the development of various application technologies, we provide product expansion services such as rapid diagnosis and simple diagnosis, and research platform services suitable for various research directions of users. PCL Products are HiSU System (Blood Bank Screening : HIV, HCV, HBV, HTLV, Syphilis, Chagas) and PCLOK (POCT : Cancer, Influenza virus).
About the Opportunity
PCL is seeking MIT students with interest in AI, machine learning, and deep learning to work in it’s R&D center. Potential internship projects may include but are not limited to the following:
- Improve the accuracy of diagnosis results by detecting foreign substances that affect the sensitivity and specificity of 3D diagnostic technology (Sol-gel Cap technology)
- Applying artificial intelligence to create a smart factory and combine it with SG cap spotting technology to maximize production efficiency
Internships of 2-3 months are available June-August, and funding is provided for all basic internship expenses, including airfare, housing, and living costs.
Class year: 1st year, sophomore, junior, senior, master’s, Ph.D.
Course: Computer Science & Engineering (6-3), Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (6-2), Computer Science & Molecular Biology (6-7).
Applicants must meet MISTI MIT-Korea requirements prior to the internship start date:
- Undergraduate students must complete 4 semesters of Korean language courses or have similar proficiency. Graduate students may have this requirement waived.
- Completion of MIT-Korea pre-internship training, 10-15 total hrs.
- Minimum 4.0 GPA
The priority application deadline for summer internships is Nov. 30; applications are only accepted after that date if positions are still available.
(PCL is eligible for Korea’s alternative military service employment of male Korean citizen applicants with a Master’s degree and above.)
