Your Role and Responsibilities
Start and end dates for this Internship are during Summer 2022 (3 months) at IBM Research. At IBM Research, we invent things that matter to the world. We are driven to discover. With more than 3,000 researchers in 12 labs located across six continents, IBM Research is one of the world’s largest and most influential corporate research labs.
We are seeking candidates with proven interest and experience in implementing innovative solutions focused in Data Center environments. Responsibilities would include installing new and rebuild existing servers. Configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with IBM security standards and project/operational requirements. Maintaining and improving compliant process and procedures for; installation, configuration, operations, maintenance and support. Research and recommend innovative solutions, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources, maintain consistency as appropriate and provide economies of scale. Demonstrated communication skills are essential.
Candidates must be willing to work in any of the following locations: Almaden, CA; Yorktown Heights or Poughkeepsie, NY.
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related area is required.
