Summary. The Nantz National Alzheimer Center seeks a highly motivated research assistant, with an interest in cognitive sciences and neuroimaging, to participate in groundbreaking research to prevent or cure neurodegenerative diseases.
Responsibilities: The Houston Methodist Research Institute seeks a qualified candidate to fill the position of research assistant at the Nantz National Alzheimer Center, Department of Neurology. The successful candidate is expected to test patients with dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases, assist with preparation of research reports and grant applications, maintain databases, and conduct statistical analysis of research datasets.
Requirements: Applicants must hold a bachelor degree in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive sciences, biomedical science or a related field. They are expected to have excellent writing, statistical, and data analysis skills. They should be self-motivated with an interest in cognition, neurodegenerative diseases and neuroimaging. The ideal candidate will have a background in scoring and interpretation of cognitive testing in adults.
