In the role of Water Resources EIT/Designer, we’ll count on you to:
•Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects.
•Focus on dam safety and the application of dam safety principles for compliance with state and federal requirements.
•Hydropower system operation, modeling, and design.
•Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses of watersheds, river systems, spillways, and other water conveyance facilities as they relate to hydropower operations, design, licensing, and safety.
•Utilize software applications related to the fields of hydrology, hydraulics, and water management (including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HydroCAD).
•Design and evaluate civil engineering projects in the areas of hydraulic conveyance systems, civil site development, dam safety, and erosion and sediment control.
•Assist in performing environmental evaluations under federal and state licensing requirements.
•Lead production of design calculations and technical reports.
•Perform other duties as required.
Candidates who are hired without an EIT certification will have the title of Water Resources Designer and will be expected to achieve EIT certification for career progression.
•Bachelor’s degree Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering
•EIT or ability to obtain EIT within 12 months
•Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and/or other scripting languages
•Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate findings with clients through verbal and written correspondence
•Driven individual with time management skills, who will take ownership of their tasks
•An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
•Knowledge of Dam Safety
•Knowledge of CAD desirable
