We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow to perform original basic research in the area of neurodegenerative disease. The focus of the Jovicic lab is to use biochemical, molecular and cellular approaches to understand the mechanisms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
The lab has access to state-of-the-art resources at Genentech including mass spectrometry facilities, next-generation sequencing, automation for high-throughput functional genomics screening, access to libraries of small molecule compounds as well as access to in vivo model development.
Applicants should have a relevant Ph.D. with a strong research background in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry and/or biophysics. The qualified candidate will have experience in a wide range of molecular and cellular biology techniques. Experience with iPSC-derived neurons, unbiased omics and large datasets, characterization of protein-protein or protein-RNA interactions, and microscopy are desired. A track record of completing challenging scientific problems independently and creatively, exemplified by first-author publication of research in high-quality scientific journals is required.
