CAES is seeking a RF Design Engineer IV to lead projects with highly skilled engineers in the design and development of complex RF, Microwave, and millimeterwave sub-systems. This position will report to the Director of Engineering, and is located in San Jose, CA.
Join our team of highly skilled RF, Digital, and Test engineers to develop and manufacture advanced microwave and millimeter wave subsystems, hybrid modules, circuit card assemblies and components for narrow and broad bandwidth military applications.
In this position, you will be tasked with managing projects with Design Engineering teams, which is responsible for design, development, qualification, transition to production, and support of complex RF, Microwave, and millimeterwave sub-systems. You will need to be comfortable working as both a project team lead as well as an individual contributor. You will engage with engineering and business development management to develop and pursue strategic plans and develop new capabilities. You will work closely with Business Development to develop strong relationships of trust and dependability with customers resulting in new business opportunities. You will also be working with customers to create optimal solutions, generate proposals, and develop compliant, cost effective, assemblies and sub-systems. You will generate technical and financial inputs to proposals.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics and 8+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics and 5+ years of relevant experience)
5+ experience designing wideband RF and mmW products operating at frequencies above 5GHz
5+ experience in the use of relevant RF Design tools (linear, non-linear, EM 3D, and Time Domain) such as ADS, MWO, Momentum, Sonnet, HFSS, and Spice
5+ experience with RF test equipment and instruments such as Vector Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscopes, etc.
5+ project management experience such as leading technical teams in designing and deploying complex RF assemblies and sub-systems.
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
Ability to obtain and maintain active secret security clearance.
