Global Portfolio Management Internship Overview

The Pharmacovigilance & Patient Safety (PPS) organization works collaboratively and strategically with colleagues across the product lifecycle to identify, evaluate, understand, and communicate the safety profile of AbbVie products to protect patients worldwide. Within PPS, the Strategic Operations team plays a critical role in conceptualizing, designing and implementing strategic projects, operations and business process initiatives. The team is a high-profile, high-impact team that works with PPS functions on a range of critical initiatives – from executing cross-functional safety process improvement initiatives to overseeing merger integration efforts to driving our World Class 2020 strategic roadmap. As a member of the team, you are at the forefront of working with senior leaders to identify critical priorities and drive high-value projects that make an impact on business performance.
The Global PV Portfolio Management Intern will support the project management team to drive efficiencies for various projects. The Intern will work with department project managers to manage project workstreams, create project deliverables, produce status reports and other project artifacts. In addition, the intern will support the PPS internship program lead in managing the safety education and development of all interns throughout the program. The intern will work with many stakeholders across the safety organization and must have strong organizational and time management skills.
Key responsibilities could include:
- Support project teams in managing project deliverables
- Lead project team meetings and advise upon strategic solutions
- Develop project management skills and adhere to best practices
- Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s, MBA or Master’s degree in business or science related fields
- Must be enrolled in university during the internship period
- Expected graduation date between August 2023 – December 2024
- Completion of project management related coursework/courses
