We are seeking a highly skilled and quantitative Electricity Trader to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying trading solutions, developing strategies, and optimizing portfolio construction in electricity markets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quantitative analysis, computer science and programming, and deep research skills.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team, including Portfolio Managers, Fundamental Traders, Meteorologists, and Quantitative Analysts, to develop and implement trading strategies.
- Perform data-driven analysis and decision-making to identify and exploit investment opportunities in electricity markets.
- Utilize power flow simulation and probabilistic decision-making skills to understand the outcomes of trading decisions and assess risk profiles.
- Develop simulation frameworks and predictive models to enhance trading strategies and portfolio management.
- Optimize capital allocation across portfolios based on a probabilistic understanding of expected outcomes.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of risk management techniques, portfolio optimization, and expected value forecasting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or related disciplines.
- Proficient in programming in Python with experience managing large data sets and complex strategy implementations.
- Excellent quantitative and research skills, with the ability to analyze complex scenarios and integrate incomplete information.
- Proficiency in utilizing power flow simulation tools and applying probabilistic decision-making techniques.
- Strong desire to develop and implement trading strategies, including the use of quantitative approaches for portfolio management and risk management.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
