Position Summary
CBA seeks a dedicated and experienced Part-Time English Language Learners (ELL) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of language acquisition, cultural sensitivity, and a passion for helping students develop their English language proficiency. As an ELL Teacher, you will be responsible for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for adult students with diverse language backgrounds.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Design and implement effective English language learning lesson plans that align with the needs and proficiency levels of individual students or groups.
Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that focus on the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Employ a variety of teaching methods and resources to address diverse learning styles.
Conduct regular assessments to gauge students’ language proficiency and progress. Provide constructive feedback to students.
Identify and address the unique needs of English Language Learners. Provide additional support and resources to students requiring extra assistance.
Foster a culturally inclusive and sensitive learning environment. Incorporate diverse cultural perspectives into lessons and activities.
Work closely with CBA staff to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field preferred
Possess relevant teaching certifications, such as TESOL or TEFL not required but preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the challenges faced by English Language Learners from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students overcome language barriers.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs of individual students.
Passionate about working in the community and wants to have lots of fun!
This part-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the academic and personal development of English Language Learners in a supportive and inclusive educational setting.
Salary: $35/hour
