BAIN CAPITAL INSURANCE OVERVIEW
Bain Capital Insurance, a newly formed and independently managed affiliate of Bain Capital, is a leading global investor focused specifically on the insurance industry. Our strategy consists of three pillars to create and drive value for our clients: private equity investing, outsourced investment portfolio management and structured investment solutions. Our insurance private equity business combines experienced, senior team connectivity and the broader Bain Capital platform to identify attractive risk-adjusted return opportunities across the insurance industry with a focus on control or significant negative control. We anticipate investing across the insurance value chain and business cycle, tech-enabled start-ups to legacy mutual insurers. Our first dedicated private equity fund raised over $1 billion at its final close in Q1 2023. Our outsourced investment portfolio management and structured investment solutions businesses focus on working closely with insurance company clients to deliver portfolio value creation that leverages the full breadth of the Bain Capital platform.
Our investment process is characterized by detailed business and financial analysis and a culture of vigorous debate. We are a small, close-knit team that combines a consulting-based approach to industry, competitor, and business analysis with an in-depth examination of a target company or asset’s financial performance and capital structure. Our model is based on creating strong partnerships with management and other key stakeholders to add strategic and operational value to drive attractive returns.
