Me in the Future (MIT Future): Fall 2026 events series for first years

Join your classmates for this year’s MIT Future Series, a collection of events tailored to your needs as a first year undergraduate student at MIT. Learn more and register for events individually at the Handshake links below. For all CAPD events, go to the CAPD events calendar.

CAPD understands that the firehose may be at full blast, so take a moment to orient your career development on your own time. Visit our Virtual Orientation to learn how CAPD can help.

Learn how to sign-up for Handshake, schedule appointments with staff, discover resources, and much more! This online tool will be available all orientation-long.

There is also a P-set at the end, and we will draw names to receive a $25 gift card for participating (P-set will close on Friday 9/11).

During your time at MIT, you’ll likely need your resume reviewed, learn how to use a cover letter, finesse your LinkedIn profile, and network with employers. MIT’s Career Advising & Professional Development office (CAPD) is the hub for all of that.

Come on this tour to see the employer recruiting suite and CAPD’s workshop space. You’ll also get to understand how teams such as Distinguished Fellowship, Career Services, and Prehealth Advising can help you clarify your purpose and take steps toward professional success.

Register here (10:00AM) and here (1:00PM).

In this workshop, we’ll lay out the basics of networking, informational interviewing, and the US American work culture. You’ll learn why a strong basis is crucial for your career first steps and how to go about mastering the art of networking in the US.

The content in this ISO/CAPD event is tailored to undergraduate international students. Graduate international students are encouraged to attend the session that will be part of the ISO Navigating MIT Series (November 5th).
