Starting Monday, September 8, Career Advising & Professional Development (CAPD) is launching drop-in career advising for our undergraduate and graduate students who need a quick question answered.
During the semester, drop-ins are:
- In our 7-103 location, right off the Infinite Corridor!
- Available Monday – Friday, from 1:00PM – 2:00PM
- Up to 15-minutes; first come, first serve
- If you need more time, we’ll help you schedule a longer appointment

| These short, 15-minute meetings are perfect for quick questions or help with topics like: ● Brief resume section/entry review ● Finding resources on capd.mit.edu or around campus ● Outreach to a recruiter or responding to an offer ● Finding an event or career fair ● Tips on attending an event ● Elevator pitch practice ● Application help ● Tips on emailing a recruiter/employer ● Using Handshake or other job boards | Book on Handshake a longer, 30-, 50-, or 60-minute appointments covering a range of topics that could benefit from more time and conversation, such as: ● More in-depth resume, CV, cover letter reviews ● Grad school application essay reviews ● Faculty job application material reviews ● LinkedIn profile reviews ● Career exploration techniques and tools ● Guided self-assessments ● Career fair preparation ● Job/Internship search help ● Networking guidance ● Mock (practice) interviews or interview help ● Understanding your job/internship offer ● Job/internship offer negotiation help ● Declining a job/internship offer ● Interview presentation or Job talk preparation help |
