5AM Ventures is an early-stage biotech venture firm leveraging both venture creation (i.e., building biotech companies from scratch) and venture capital to bring new medicines to patients.
We are seeking an AI/ML Fellow who can assist the 4:59 and 5AM teams with
- Evaluation of emerging and existing artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) approaches for drug and clinical development, and identification of opportunities for AI/ML biotech venture investment or company creation
- Conducting scientific and technical diligence on new investment opportunities (e.g. research, identifying and speaking with Key Opinion Leaders), with a focus on AI-enabled life sciences or healthcare companies
- Advising on computational projects and AI tool implementation within 5AM portfolio companies
- Building a network of academic and industry leaders at the intersection of life sciences and computational approaches
- Time commitment will be 20+ hours/week, and a stipend will be provided

Who Can Apply:
- We are seeking Fellows who can work at our Boston office August-December 2025. Hours spent in-office will be flexible.
- Individuals with strong computer science backgrounds who have hands-on experience with life sciences or healthcare AI/ML applications, or candidates with life sciences backgrounds with robust experience using ML methods
- Currently enrolled in graduate or post-graduate training (e.g. PhD, Master’s, MD, MBA programs, postdoctoral fellows)
